Portsmouth First Citizen Award Dinner



The Portsmouth Service League honored Lynn Mapp Wiggins as the 2015 First Citizen at their annual award dinner held at the Renaissance Hotel and Conference Center. Mrs. Wiggins has been active in the Portsmouth community as a volunteer, organizer, and committee chairperson since she and her husband Dr. Ben Wiggins, Jr., arrived in 1964. Musical entertainment was provided by the Porte Towne Magic Jazz Band. Master of Ceremonies Captain Lawrence W. l'Anson, Jr., introduced guest speakers Mrs. Nancy Wren, Mr. Richard Wentz, and Lynn's daughter Mrs. Susan Wiggins Moore, who spoke about the many accomplishments of the honored guest. Mrs. Wiggins was introduced by 2014 First Citizen Mr. Richard Honeycutt. The attendees responded with a standing ovation.
